The 28-year-old rapper released the first episode of Cardi Tries, a new series for the Facebook Messenger “Watch Together” feature. Cardi Tries follows Cardi B as she attempts ballet, stunt car racing, basketball, wig making, and other activities. In her own words, Cardi has “two left feet.” Can legendary choreographer Debbie Allen help cardi trade her twerks for pliés?

The Ask

How do we capture the essence of Cardi B as she brings her flair and style to activities outside of her comfort zone?

Photographing Cardi B to show off all of her glamour and flair was easy. The real challenge was picking just one photograph to use in the keyart.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

Simple. Bold. Fabulous. Before landing on the final lock-up, we did a full logo exploration (above) and explored different ways of Cardi B-edazzling objects to represent the jobs to which Cardi B will bring her Cardi B flair (below).

KEYART DESIGN

Our goal with this keyart design was to capture Cardi B doing things she’s never done before, having fun, and bringing her own Cardi B style and flair to everything she tries.

THE TRAILER

When we cut the trailer for Cardi Tries, we created and integrated a custom graphic look to accentuate the hilarious moments in the series and underscore the idea that no matter what Cardi tries, it’s going to be a wild time.
